Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry has written a letter to State Representative Eddie Lumsden, urging him to introduce local legislation in the upcoming General Assembly session to rename a portion of Georgia Highway 337 in honor of the late Martha Tucker, who served as county clerk under four different commissioners. 

Elsberry would like to see Highway 337 from the four-way stop in Menlo to the Alabama state line named “The Martha Kay Tucker Memorial Highway”.

Mrs. Tucker lived with her husband, Ralph Tucker, on that portion of Highway 337.  She also attended Alpine Church which is located on the same stretch of Highway and her husband operated the Menlo Garage on the same stretch of highway.
