A call to the Summerville Police Department regarding a man continually knocking on a residences door, ended with the man being arrested for possession of meth.

On June 3rd, Officers were dispatched to a residence on Highway 48 where they met with Karen Carlin who told Officers that a man known as Jerry, had came to her house several times that day and had continuously knocked on her door. Carlin stated that she had given help to Jerry and his girlfriend in the past, but this time she was very concerned as it appeared that Jerry was under the influence of something and had walked off when the police had been called this time.

Officers discovered that Jerrys’ full name was Jerry Luallen and that his mother lived nearby on Union Street. Arriving at his mothers residence Officers say Luallen and his mother in the backyard and asked to speak with them. While speaking with Luallen, Officers observed Jerry showing many mannerisms indicative of being under the influence of stimulants of some kind. Luallen kept twitching his head, and admitted to Officers that he had been at the Highway 48 residence several times that day because he was looking for his girlfriend and thought that she might be there.

Officers asked Jerry if he was taking anything currently and Luallen said the last time he had used meth was 3 days ago. Luallen gave Officers consent to search his person, but Officers asked Luallen to empty his pockets first. While doing so it was observed that he was not reaching into the bottom of one front shorts pocket. Luallen first stated that he only had a lighter in there, but when Officers searched his person, a small baggie of a white, crystalline substance, suspected to be methamphetamine was found. Officers then placed Luallen under arrest and transported him to the Chattooga County Jail. The suspected meth was tested at the Summerville Police Department where it did test positive for methamphetamine, and was later placed into an evidence locker.
