The State of Georgia Department of Human Services, with whom North Georgia Community Action, Inc. contracts, has announced that the Cooling Assistance Program will open for homebound and elderly households on April 3, 2023. 

All households participating in the program must provide verification and meet the income criteria, be responsible for paying the cost of energy for home cooling directly to the supplier and be a U.S. Citizen or alien admitted to the U.S. for lawful, permanent residence.

To apply, applicants must call the community service center to get ont he list and receive instructions for submitting documents required to complete the application process.
