A thirteen-year-old Coosa student has died from COVID-19.
According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, the boy tested positive for the virus a week ago.
He was found, not breathing, at his home early Tuesday morning.
EMS transported the teen to the emergency room, where he was pronounced dead at 5:55 a.m.
Proctor said the cause of death was respiratory failure due to COVID-19.
