The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon for November on Tuesday, the 13th, at noon in the Chattooga County Civic Center on Hwy. 48 in Summerville.

While the chamber usually gives away door prizes to its members at their monthly luncheons, November’s meeting will be just the opposite: the chamber is asking that its members bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to local food banks; food banks frequently experience heavy shortages during the winter/holiday season.

The charitable move will help highlight the organization represented by the luncheon’s scheduled speaker: Carla Harward, CEO of Helping Hands Ending Hunger Inc. (commonly called simply “Helping Hands”). Ms. Harward’s company aims to reduce food insecurity in school-aged children through charitable activities like fundraisers and donations.
