The Chattooga County Personnel board met Wednesday morning to notify the public of their findings in the terminations of Sheriff's Department employees Mary Kay Bullard and Lisa Hall.

Probate Judge Jon Payne said he was going to notify the parties that through discussions and investigation the board had decided that since the Sheriff's Department has its own personnel policy and appeals process on file with the County Commissioner's office, the board has no jurisdiction to hear the appeals of either former employee.

However, since no public notification of the meeting was given, no vote could be taken. Therefore, the official decision is on hold until 9:30 AM Friday where the board will make it official. The meeting will be held at the court house annex.

Earlier this year the board had decided they would hear the appeal. That decision was rescinded when they started looking into the matter.
