Just the mention of the word "snow" can send folks into a panic for milk and bread at the local stores in Chattooga County.  The Weather Channel tells AM 1180 that Chattooga County does have a chance for some white precipitation on Sunday morning.  Rain is forecasted for Saturday with a low Saturday night of 32 degrees and snow showers on Sunday morning.

Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 on Friday afternoon that the county public works crews were getting ready for the possibility of winter weather and that everything was "on go should the need arise."  Canada said that the county had the salt trucks ready and that public works crews were told on Friday to be ready just in case they are needed over the weekend.

Commissioner Jason Winters told AM 1180 Friday afternoon that "we are as prepared as we can be should we get any snow this weekend."  Winters pointed out that with Chattooga County Public Schools being closed on Mondays it makes a weekend snow not quite as stressful.

Stay tuned to AM 1180 for udpates on the weather from The Weather Channel and The National Weather Service.
