Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters announced the purchase of a new ambulance for Chattooga County that could be on the road as early as next week.

The county paid $43,500 for a new Chevrolet Ambulance Chassis purchased from Terry Reid Cheverolet in Summerville.  According to the commissioner, the county will use the body from an existing ambulance on the new chassis.

Winters said that the purchase should get the county through the next twelve months without any other new ambulance purchases.
