Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 that road crews were out in a few parts of the county on Monday salting and scraping what was left of the snow from Christmas weekend.
Canada said that Little Sand Mountain still may have some slick spots in the shady areas where the sun hasn’t dried the road. Residents of Little Sand Mountain should continue to use caution this evening and on Tuesday morning.
Canada said that there may be other spots where the sun has melted snow that will be slick on Tuesday morning, especially on bridges and overpasses and urged motorist to use caution.
Temperatures are forecasted to be well above freezing on Tuesday with abundant sunshine that should take care of any residual icy spots on Chattooga County roads.
