Chattooga County recently sold surplus equipment at an auction held in Summerville at a public municipal auction that was held in Calhoun. Commissioner Winters said that the county netted $31,065 from the sale of five tractors and heavy equipment and eight road vehicles.
Winters said that all the equipment had been deemed surplus and “was not usable…had not been usable, and had not been used for some time at the county public works.”
