One of the county's wells was mistakenly put near an old abandoned landfill and though there have been no problems, County Commissioner Jason Winters says he wants a second opinion.

 

It 's thought that a faulty permit application to the EPD that led to the issue. Well Seven is off Butler Dairy Road and is one of the county's newest wells serving the Gore and Subligna communities.

 

Ladd Environmental filed it's application in 2009. It read that there were no domestic septic systems or industrial, municipal of construction waste landfills. The application was approved.  Winters said the landfill has been closed many decades and he had no idea it ever existed.
