A couple were caught stealing steaks from Ingles in Summerville and once caught, asked for forgiveness and a chance to pay – but the grocery store pressed shoplifting charges against the two.

According to Summerville Police, store employees caught the couple stealing the steaks and called police.  When police arrived on the scene, they spoke with Erica Self who said that she had no idea who the man was that stole the steaks, even though she had been seen with him.  When police reviewed video surveillance, they could see that Ms. Self was holding the hand of the man right before he stole the steaks.

Self finally admitted that the man, identified as Chadrick Millican, was her boyfriend.

Millican asked to be allowed to pay for the steaks and said he was sorry he stole them.  Police told the couple that would not be possible because Ingles was pressing charges.

Self and Millican were both arrested on shoplifting charges and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
