
The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), released a report this week showing new COVID cases in nursing homes in the U.S. has now reached a record number of weekly new cases this month.
Recent data released by Johns Hopkins University and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) show that with the recent spike in new COVID cases in the general U.S. population, weekly nursing home cases are also on the rise.
Oakview Health and Rehabilitation in Summerville is reporting 108 COVID positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March. Of these cases, there have been 4 deaths and 96 recovered residents. Oakview Health and Rehabilitation currently has 118 residents.
Chattooga county positive cases have declined in the past week down from 15.4% to 10.8%. The number of tests performed have also decreased from 566 tests in the previous reporting cycle to 556 tests this cycle.
