COVID cases are on the rise in Chattooga County and across the state. The number of people testing positive has been steadily increasing for the past three weeks.
On Wednesday, Floyd Urgent Care in Summerville was extremely busy, with some people reporting long waits to get tested for COVID-19.
According to the latest numbers, Chattooga County is averaging 12 new positive COVID-19 cases each day. On Tuesday of this week, the county saw 30 new cases in one day. That is the second-highest, single-day number of positive cases this year.
The last COVID-19-related death reported in Chattooga County was on June 12th of this year.
