On Sunday, a Chattooga County deputy responded to a call on South Little Sand Mountain Road regarding property damage and theft.

According to a report from the sheriff’s department, the deputy spoke with the complainant who showed the deputy where someone had used something to knock a hole in the door of a 2005 Ford F250 King Ranch pickup truck.

After gaining access to the cab of the truck, the thief stole two credit cards and the complainant’s wife’s social security card.

The complainant told the deputy that his wife was notified by one of the credit card companies that her credit card had been used later that day in Dayton, Tennessee.

The incident was turned over to an investigator.
