Lookout Mountian Judicial Circuit District Attorney Chris Arnt told the local paper this week that he is “working on a way of resolving the case” – referring to the murder charge that left a Chattooga County jury deadlocked.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on the murder count and a mistrial was declared on September 14th.

Renee Lanham was sentence to ten years in prison by Chattooga County Superior Court Judge Don Thompson following her conviction on two counts of giving false statements to law enforcement officers. 

Lanham had been charged with murder in the death of her husband, Eddie Lanham.

The fifty-six-year-old hair dresser’s trial was delayed first by COVID-19 after her attorney fell ill.  The trial was further delayed by flooding in Summerville on Labor Day Weekend.

The district attorney didn’t elaborate on his intentions, according to The Summerville News.
