William Thomas Love, 35, of Dalton, was taken into custody in the Armuchee area following a tense standoff that began when police attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a residence on Turner Road. According to reports, Love barricaded himself inside the home, prompting a significant law enforcement response. The situation escalated when officers arrived at the scene and discovered that Love had retreated to a room where firearms were accessible.

Authorities reported that Love failed to comply with repeated requests to exit the premises, leading to a standoff that lasted several hours. During the arrest, Love allegedly resisted officers by kicking them, resulting in additional charges. He now faces a slew of serious allegations, including simple assault, obstruction, parole violation, criminal trespass, criminal attempt to commit a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

This incident follows a previous arrest involving Love, who was apprehended earlier for allegedly breaking into a car in Haywood Valley. Officers reported that when they arrived at that scene, he fled on foot. At that time, he was charged with entering an automobile with intent to commit a crime, criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, obstruction, criminal trespass, and parole violation.
