A Summerville man reported damage to his fence after a vehicle ran into it.
On June 13th, Summerville Police met with Gerry Perry at his State Street home regarding damage to his fence. Perry stated that a man he is familiar with ran off the roadway and struck his fence, causing significant damage. Perry stated that the driver did stop and they spoke. Arrangements were made to repair the fence by the driver, and then he left. Perry wanted a report placed on file of the incident.
Due to the nature of the accident, Officers placed a BOLO out on the vehicle, a red SUV. A red SUV with significant drivers side damage was later located at a Sixth Street address where Officers met with Knico Pickett. Pickett stated that he had swerved to miss an animal which caused him to leave the roadway and strike the fence. Pickett acknowledge that an arrangement had been made to repair the fence, so Officers cancelled the BOLO.
