The City of Summerville presented a “Friend of the Community Award” on Friday to Debbie Brown.  The award was given in advance of Friendship Week and the Friendship Festival that is coming up next week.

Susan Locklear with Summerville Main Street said:

Ms. Debbie Brown is today’s recipient of the “Friend of The Community” Award. Ms. Debbie may be known best for her many years of service at Armstrong’s. She is currently employed and serving the community at Thatcher’s BBQ. It was quoted that she has been a staple of Chattooga for many years, and made her customers feel like family. In fact, her customers became like family to her as she served them, watching their children, and even grandchildren grow over the years. She was nominated and commended for her amazing customer service and friendly disposition throughout her many years of service. Thanks Debbie for making a difference in our community! Friendliness Matters! More awards to come next week during Friendship Week!
