The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia has issued a Dense Fog Advisory that includes Chattooga County and surrounding areas in Northwest Georgia.  In fact, the fog advisory extends all the way to central Georgia.  The fog advisory is in place until 10 AM this morning. (Saturday, December 18, 2021).

A cold front is pushing through the area and bringing with it heavy rain. The National Weather Service says we can expect thunderstorms throughout the day today and some of those storms could bring high winds.

The rain should push through the area overnight tonight and then temperatures will turn a bit cooler.

As we start the week of Christmas, we will see sunny skies on Sunday with a high near 52 degrees.  Sunday night the temperatures will drop into the mid-30’s.  Dry conditions will prevail most of next week with highs in the 50’s and low 60’s and lows in the low-to-mid-30’s.

The outlook for Christmas – well, it is highly unlikely we’ll have anything close to a White Christmas!  Highs are expected to be in the low 60’s Christmas Day and lows will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.
