Timing is everything, and there’s a never a good time to “show off for your friends” in front of a deputy.

According to an incident report, a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on a call at a location on Northern Heights Circle, when he heard ties spinning.  As he turned around to face toward the sound, he saw a Nissan truck spinning tires – and traveling at a high rate of speed coming in his direction; the report noted that the truck almost struck the patrol car – which was parked in the roadway.

The deputy then walked across the street, and asked the man why he was driving in such a manner, and his reply was that he was “just showin’ off for his friends,”

A faint odor of an alcoholic beverage led the officer to ask the man if he’d had anything to drink that day…and he said “three or four beers.”

The man then consented to a portable ALCOSENSOR test – which showed results above the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in the state and at that point, Joshua Eugene Daniel of a Kingston address was placed under arrest on a charge of DUI; he was also cited for failing to change the address on his driver’s license even though he’d lived in his current location for more than six months.
