The Rome news Tribune reports that a trial is underway for Desmond Brown who is accused of killing Rome sisters in Alabama.
Christopher Pullen has testified against Brown, saying that he was in the car with the sisters, Truvenia Campbell and Vanita Richardson the night the sisters were killed. Brown believed that one of the women had stolen his wallet at a party they were all at. Brown, Pullen, and Devin Watts invited the girls to leave the party and accompany them on a drug deal, which was just a trick to get them into the car.
Brown pulled over on the way and asked the girls about the wallet to which they had said they didn’t know what he was talking about. They got back on the road and Brown stopped again and Pullen said that Brown grabbed Campbells purse and he shot her three times.
Richardson, the younger sister, handed Brown her purse but was still shot and killed. Pullen said that he didn’t see who shot her.
Cherokee County District Attorney Summer McWhorter Summerford argues detailed evidence against brown, which includes DNA evidence from the half-sisters that was left in the trunk of Browns car. Brown now faces the death penalty in Alabama on capitol murder charges for the killing of the two sisters.
