Chattooga County is now eligible for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Residents and business owners in Chattooga County recovering from the effects of the recent severe storms and flooding can now apply for aid.

Those applying should be sure to have a secure mailing address, especially if they had to move out.  Disaster assistance can include grants to help pay for temporary housing, home repairs or other serious disaster-related expenses. Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) also will  be available to cover residential and business losses not covered by insurance. the toll-free numbers are staffed 24 hours seven days a week unil further notice.
