A Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputy has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the Police Officers Standards and Training Council. Sheriff's Department Investigator Kandy Dodd said the council met last Wednesday and she was notified of the findings by certified letter. Dodd said a citizen's complaint was filed seven months ago concerning a recent law suit she is involved in through the Sheriff's Department. The council meets three times a year. Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett has been criticized for not terminating Dodd since the lawsuit was filed alleging that she forged a search warrant. When asked about the findings, Everett said it made him feel good and he knew all along she would be cleared but the investigation process had to be completed." Everett said the decision is good for the Sheriff's Office and good for Dodd.
