The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has announced the award of a $15,000 grant to the Coosa Valley Technical College Foundation to help residents of Northwest Georgia gain basic literacy skills.  The funds will be used to further adult literacy and basic education outreach efforts.  The Dollar General Literacy Foundation was formed by the founder of Dollar General, Cal Turner, who struggled with a poor educational background and became a giant in the discount department store industry.  There are over 4,800 Dollar General Stores in 25 states including 4 stores in Chattooga County.
