The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation with a $7,000 Waiting List Reduction Grant.

The GNTC Foundation will use the grant to reduce their waiting list for adult literacy services.

“We commend the work being done by Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation to help people better their lives through literacy and education,” said Rick Dreiling, Dollar General’s chairman and CEO. “We are proud to help Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation take steps to provide literacy services to students more quickly in an effort to reduce and ultimately eliminate waiting lists.”

Adult literacy organizations across the country are facing increased demands for service, while struggling with decreases in available resources.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation Waiting List Reduction Grant helps literacy programs find ways to immediately engage potential students in learning activities.

Since its founding, Dollar General has been committed to supporting literacy and education.
