Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce Director David Tidmore told AM 1180 this past week that the new Dollar Tree store would be opening soon in the shopping center behind McDonalds in Summerville.  Tidmore said that the company would be taking employment applications next Friday, January 14th.  Specific times for job applicants to apply will be announced later. According to the company’s website; they have been operating for more than 50 years starting in 1953.  In 1996 the company changed its name to what is known today as “Dollar Tree.”  The company operates more than 3,500 stores in all 48 contiguous United States
