A man seriously injured when a lift tipped over Friday is being treated at an undisclosed hospital.

Meanwhile, donations are being sought to help his family with mounting expenses as he recovers.

Andrew Voils and a co-worker were thrown from a lift that was about 80 feet in the air while working on a sign at the new Hampton Inn hotel on Turner McCall Boulevard, according to Rome Police.

The lift became unleveled and it fell across the road, striking a vehicle.

The co-worker was not seriously injured and the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.  

However, according to a posting on youcaring.com, Andrew suffered a broken leg and multiple injuries to his face. 

He was taken to a local hospital then shortly later had to be airlifted to a larger facility an hour away.

He is expected to have 8 to 10 months of recovery time, including multiple surgeries.

Voils has two sons, ages 2 and 11, and his wife Lydia is 9 months pregnant with a baby girl who is due in just two weeks.
