Scammers are always on the lookout for ways to cheat people out of their money.  While the “jury duty” scam is not new, it has been making its rounds in Chattooga County recently.

Usually the scammer will tell people that they have missed jury duty and that they need to pay money to avoid being arrested.

Chattooga County Courts will never text you or phone you for payment for failing to appear for jury duty.

Never give out your personal information to anyone who is trying to use this as a means to scam you out of your money.
