The Georgia Department of Public Health has released it newest weekly report on COVID-19.

The seven day average of new cases reported has increased by 22.7% from 11/09-11/16. As of November 16th, there are 387,930 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 38,306 antigen positive cases. Even with the increase this week, the seven day average of new cases report is down 46% from the peak in July.

Chattooga County is decreasing in confirmed COVID-19 cases. We have decreased in 5% or greater from 10/31-11/06 reporting week to this reporting cycle. Floyd, Walker, and Dade counties are also showing slight decreases with Gordon and Bartow counties showing an increase in new cases.

Daily hospitalizations for COVID-19 have increased from 1,534 to 1,697 cases on November 16th, however this is still a decrease of the daily high of 3,200 in July.
