Additional charges have now been added to those already levied against a 22 year old Ft Payne woman who was involved in a fatal crash Monday night.

According to police, Deanna Betz was driving a Jeep Wrangler that slammed into the rear of a parked logging truck, in the 900 block of Glenn Boulevard Southwest, at around 7:20pm – killing a passenger in the Jeep, 20 year old Kimberly Michelle Beattie of Scottsboro.

Beattie was flown to Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga – where she was pronounced dead.  Meanwhile, the driver, Betz, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and charged with DUI.

A manslaughter charge was added following Beattie’s death.

According to DeKalb County, Alabama court records, Betz was released after making bond of $75,000.

Beattie’s funeral will be held Saturday (March 12th), at 1:00pm, at Scottsboro First United Methodist Church.
