Earlier this week, the store manager at the Summerville McDonald’s called the sheriff’s department after a drive-thru customer damaged equipment with a truck and trailer.

The manager told a responding deputy that Desiree Harley Paige Hines of LaFayette drove a blue, Chevrolet pickup truck with a trailer into second drive-thru lane at McDonald’s.  Hines’ truck struck the speaker stand and caused extensive damage.

The estimated damage to the restaurant’s equipment was around $2,000.

The store manager took photos of the truck at the point of impact, but the driver had left the scene by the time of the deputy’s arrival.
