A Gainesville, Georgia man wound up in the Chattooga County Jail last Thursday after a deputy stopped him in the pre-dawn hours for erratic driving.
According to a report released Tuesday by the sheriff’s office, shortly after 4 AM, a deputy observed the car driving in a dangerous fashion on Highway 48 near Peach Orchard Road. The deputy pulled the car over at Faith Baptist Church in Menlo and spoke with the driver who said that he was driving from Gainesville, Georgia to Huntsville, Alabama for work and was sleepy.
When the deputy ran the man’s license, they came back suspended, and there was a warrant for his arrest in Floyd County.
Twenty-six-year-old Leonel Salis Rameriz was taken into custody and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
