A week ago, the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force arrested a couple at a Chattooga County motel and charged them with drug possession.  During the arrest, it was discovered that the couple had also stolen a laptop from the same motel they were staying at.

Thirty-three-year-old Thomas Bernard Kinney and twenty-seven-year-old Kiara Nitisha Lofton were found to be in possession of several bags of marijuana that totaled 3.5 ounces.  Also the couple were found with methamphetamine at the Carousel Inn in Trion.  A laptop computer that had been reported stolen from room 105 of the motel was also found in the couple’s possession.  The couple were staying in room 104.

Kinney and Lofton were booked into the Chattooga County Jail on felony drug charges.  They were also charged with theft in connection with the stolen laptop from the neighboring motel room.
