After walking up to a stranger’s house at 10 PM, 40-year-old Heather Nicole McCool of Summerville was arrested last Saturday night on the charge of “Pedestrian Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs”.

A Summerville man called 9-1-1 around 10 PM when McCool, a stranger to him, walked up to his Ridgecrest Drive property’s door. Wearing an orange hoody jacket and camouflage pants, McCool allegedly said she “needed a place to visit” and had drunk whiskey and taken multiple Xanax tablets.

She left the property before law enforcement arrived to investigate. The complainant told the responding sheriff’s corporal that McCool was on his property for only a few minutes before walking off.

The corporal found McCool just feet away, sitting on the ground drinking from a beer can.

Reports say that McCool was clearly intoxicated while speaking with the corporal, slurring her words and unable to communicate where she lived. McCool admitted to having drunk whiskey and a six-pack of beer, but she denied the Xanax claim.

Despite initially agreeing to a breathalyzer test, she reportedly became belligerent and uncooperative, forcing the deputy to take her into custody.

“Once Ms. McCool was in custody… [law enforcement] was able to retrieve two unopened beers from Ms. McCool’s front pockets,” reads the corporal’s report.

McCool was booked into the Chattooga County jail shortly thereafter.
