As Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc in the southeast, many communities have been left devastated and in need of assistance. In response, Dry Valley Baptist Church in Chattooga County is stepping up to help those in need by organizing a supply drive. They are calling on the community to come together and donate essential items to support those affected by the hurricane’s destruction.

The church will be accepting donations of items such as bottled water, non-perishable food, propane, batteries, gas cans, generator adapter cords, diapers, formula, wipes, tinfoil, coolers, and more. These supplies are crucial for providing relief to those who have lost so much in the wake of the storm.  Supplies will be accepted today and taken to south Georgia on Thursday.

The church’s office hours are from 9 AM to 1 PM, and they are encouraging people to drop off donations at the office entrance on Woods Road. If you are unable to make it during office hours, you can leave your items beside the office door after hours. Every little bit helps, and your contributions can make a real difference in the lives of those who are struggling in the aftermath of the hurricane.

Northwest Georgia was fortunate to be spared from the worst of Hurricane Helene, so let’s come together to support our neighbors who were not as lucky. Your generosity and compassion can bring hope and relief to those who are in desperate need.
