A 32-year-old Duluth man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday, facing a slew of felony charges in connection with an alleged scheme to fraudulently rent and then attempt to sell high-value construction equipment.
According to Floyd County Jail records, Bray Tyronne Johnson is accused of conspiring with four unnamed co-conspirators to fraudulently rent a Ford T250 flatbed truck and a JLG 50-foot boom lift from a Home Depot location.
Johnson then reportedly attempted to sell both pieces of equipment, allegedly misrepresenting them as his own property, despite having obtained them through fraudulent means.
He is currently being held on charges of felony theft by conversion, felony theft by deception, felony party to a crime, and theft by taking a motor vehicle.
Johnson remains in custody at the Floyd County Jail as the investigation continues. As with all criminal investigations, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
