The Chattooga County Board of Education met on Thursday evening of this week.  Selecting a board member to serve as chair and vice-chair was on the agenda.

The board voted 3-1 to re-appoint Eddie Elsberry as Chairman, with Dr. Julia Houston being the only nay vote.  The board also voted to appoint Brad Hayes as Vice-Chairman.

Chairman Elsberry told WZQZ News, “It is an honor to continue to serve as Chairman for the Board. This past year has been very unorthodox to say the least but our board along with our Superintendent, administration, faculty, staff and students have made it a successful year none the less. We can’t say thank you enough to everyone for working together. The Board welcomes Mr. Hall and Mr. Montgomery. We look forward to working with them as we make Chattooga County Schools the best it can be.”
