Early voting started on Monday of this week in the Chattooga County Republican Runoff Election, and according to the Chattooga County Registrars Office, voting has been brisk.
Voters are going to the polls to decide two races to determine the Republican candidates. Incumbent Commissioner Jason Winters came in second in the June Primary to Blake Elsberry, but neither secured 51% of the vote. Teresa Pope and Gary Woods are running to see which one will be the candidate for Probate Judge.
The Republican winners will be facing challengers on the ballot in November.
As of yesterday afternoon, over 460 people had turned out to vote early.
Advanced Voting will continue through August 7th. August 1st, voters in Chattooga County will have the opportunity to cast their ballot early on a Saturday.
All early voting takes place at the Chattooga County Registrar Office on Commerce Street in Summerville.
