Early voting is underway today in two local runoff races.  Summerville residents are voting in a runoff race for City Council Seat One and there is a runoff for Chattooga County Coroner going on as well.

Voting for City of Summerville residents takes place at Summerville City Hall on Georgia Avenue.  Voting for the county race takes place at the Chattooga County Registrars Office, located on Commerce Street in downtown Summerville next to the courthouse.

Summerville voters will be voting in the nonpartisan race between Simone Adams and Pam Albert.  The two are running to fill the unexpired term of former Councilman David Ford who passed away earlier this year.

The race for Coroner is on the Republican ticket and is between Jeremy “Big Mac” McElhaney and Savanna McGill.  The winner of that race will be taking over for longtime Democratic Coroner Earl Rainwater who is retiring from the position.  No Democrat qualified to run in the General Election in November.
