Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters said that he was happy with the turn-out for the first ever Earth Day event at Dowdy Park.  The commissioner said that around 50-60 kids turned out for the duck races in the creek at the park.  To enter the race kids had to bring a recyclable item. 

The commissioner said that the recycle trailors that were at the park were filled last Saturday.  Winters said that he looks forward to more events, sponsored by the county, like the Earth Day event last Saturday.  The event was organized by the Commissioner’s Office and the Keep Chattooga Clean program.
