This Saturday two unique and fun filled events will take place in Dowdy Park and at the Summerville Depot. In the park, the first annual Earth Day Celebration will take place from 11am to 3pm. The Earth Day Event will be hosted by the Commissioner’s office and the Keep Chattooga Clean program. The day will host an array of events and information exhibits. There will be a duck race in the park’s creek and craft tent for children. The event is free and the public is invited to attend to learn what they can do to help keep our county and our planet clean and green. The next exciting weekend event will be a flower show hosted by the Chattooga County Garden Club in the Summerville Train Depot beside Dowdy Park. The flower show will be themed “Steel Wheels” and will be held Friday April 8 from 3pm-5:30pm and Saturday  April 9 from 10am – 3pm.  Designs for the show will be staged throughout the Depot and will have a railroad theme.  This will be the first flower show the club has hosted in nine years. The flower show is free and open to the public.
