The 2020 Presidential Election isn’t over in Georgia.  Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has ordered all ballots in Georgia to be recounted and that includes the ballots cast in Chattooga County.

As of yesterday, President-Elect Joe Biden has 49.5% of the vote and President Donald Trump has 49.2% of the vote statewide.

Chattooga County Registrar Sheena Weaver told WZQZ News that the official recount and audit will start this morning at 9 AM at the Registrars Office.  The Registrars Office will be closed during the recount process.

Those participating in the recount of the ballots will be Mary Maxey, Sally Hosmer, Beverly Price, Elaine Pledger, Christy Williams, Deborah McGinnis, Jane Hawkins, Brenda Kenzy, Zach Hughes and Sheena Weaver.

The outcome of the recount in Chattooga County won’t likely change.  President Trump took a little over 80% of the vote in the election.  Secretary of State Raffensperger says he doesn’t expect the recount and audit to change the results statewide either.
