Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters has set a goal of April 1st for the transfer of Chattooga County EMS Services to Redmond EMS. The commissioner made the announcement about the choice of Redmond as service provider last Friday and said that the county and Redmond would be meeting with their lawyers beginning this week to work out the details of the agreement.
Winters said that part of his decision to go with Redmond as service provider is that they are committed to putting at least four ambulances in the county in different locations. Redmond is expected to have two ambulances in the Summerville-Trion area, along with an ambulance in the Gore-Subligna are and in the Menlo-Cloudland area of the county. The commissioner said that response times would be reduced by having the ambulances stationed around the county.
