A man was injured on Christmas morning after it was reported that an excavator fell on him at a residence in the McCords Crossroads area just before 10:00 AM.  McCords Crossroads is located just west of the Cherokee County / Floyd County, Georgia line.

The man managed to free himself and drove to nearby residence to seek help.

The McCords Fire Department and Floyd EMS responded to the scene and the man was treated for complaints of back and chest injuries.
