The Coosa Valley Fair Association and Recreation Department will pitch proposals for General Electric property at the next meeting of the Rome Redevelopment Committee.  After that, citizens will have an opportunity for input.

The Fair Association is seeking a fairgrounds specifically designed to facilitate multiuse year round activities.  They estimate they would need about 55 acres of the 123 acre tract.  If that use is accepted by the city, the property would in all likelihood be leased to the Fair Association.

Commissioner Kim Canada said Thursday he hopes to have plans for the property locked in by the end of the summer, although deed to the property may not be transferred to the city until later this fall.
