The Chattooga County Fair Council is moving forward with plans to host this year’s Chattooga County Agricultural Fair. For now, the fair council says that everything is being planned – with the exception of major musical entertainment.
Planning for the fair is a year-round task and normally the fair council begins planning the next year’s event immediately once the fair is over. This year, the council has been hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once again this year Peachtree Rides will be providing the midway carnival rides. Peachtree Rides has been in communication with the fair council, and they say that they are ready to come to Chattooga County once again this year. The ride company says that prices will remain the same as they were last year as far as armbands for the midway rides.
Fair council members have told WZQZ News that while they are uncertain if there will be any additional restrictions on large gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they feel that they need to move forward with plans for this year’s event in order to be ready for the fair. For now, it appears that most everything will proceed as normal, but there are still questions about some events and exactly what protocol will be mandated by state officials when the last full week of August rolls around.
In the mean time, the fair council continues to prepare. Count on WZQZ News to continue to bring you the latest information about the 2020 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair.
