Summerville Police and the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate the possible poisoning of an elderly woman this week.  Family members reported that they believed the woman was given an overdose of potassium that lead to the woman’s hospitalization.  Summerville Police responded to a Curran Street address to speak with family members who told them about the incident.  The elderly woman was living in Trion, so Summerville Police are working with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation, which is ongoing.  The woman was reportedly in ICU at a Rome hospital.
