Chattooga County is recognizing our farmers and agricultural producers during National Farm City Week.
On Wednesday, the Chattooga County Farm Bureau hosted a breakfast for local farmers at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center which was followed by a tour of several Chattooga County farms.
Young Farmer Director Lauren Jarrett said, “As we celebrate Farm City Week in Chattooga County, we recognize our farmers who seek ways to improve farming practices and provide a safe product for consumers. As we approach the holiday season, encourage others to think about where the food on our table comes and the impact agriculture has on our daily life. No matter where we live, on the farm or in the city, a farmer touches our lives.”
Local photographer Chad Bierkamp produced a video that highlights Chattooga County’s ag producers.
In 2020, Chattooga County farmers produced over $32 million worth of goods.
