Georgia Farm Gate Value Reports by Commodity
It is now time to report on the 2014 Farm Gate values for your county. The process continues to be streamline by the Georgia Dept of Ag. If you have not yet completed your Farm Gate Survey please stop by the Chattooga County Extension Office and complete yours today so that your information can be added to our County values. The deadline for reporting your Farm Gate Value to Ms. Rebecca Thomas at the Chattooga County Extension office is May 13th. This Value is a true reflection of our County’s agricultural production and economic impact for the State Reports and Ms. Rebecca Thomas, CEC asks that everyone that has any production in agriculture in the county to please stop by the office and complete this survey before the deadline.
The Farm Service Agency is reporting the below values for Chattooga County at this point:
Corn- 1556.23; Cotton Upland-316.54; Crops – 75.6; Home Garden-2.09; Grass – 2842.47; Millet- 2.23; Mixed Forage -6812.74; Soybean – 1543.15; Trees and Timber- 75.38; Wheat- 334.38; Wildlife food plot- 4.01; With a grand total sum of report acres for Chattooga County- 13564.82.
Chattooga county timber values reported from the GA Department of Revenue is $829,009.
